What is TROP?
TROP is a tactical awareness and communication application designed for field operations, mission planning, and real-time data exchange. It's compatible with ATAK/TAK systems and includes native Mesh↔IP synchronization.
Is TROP free?
TROP availability depends on your organization's licensing agreement. Contact us for pricing and licensing information.
What devices are supported?
TROP is currently available for iOS devices. Android support may be available in the future.
5.2 Technical Questions
Do I need internet connection to use TROP?
TROP is designed to work offline-first. While an internet connection is helpful for server synchronization, many features work without connectivity using local storage and mesh networking.
How secure is TROP?
TROP implements multiple security layers including end-to-end encryption, secure authentication, and local data storage. All communications can be encrypted when using properly configured servers.
Can I use TROP with existing TAK servers?
Yes, TROP is compatible with standard TAK servers. You can connect to your organization's TAK server or use a Defencebay-managed server.
5.3 Privacy Questions
Where is my data stored?
By default, all data is stored locally on your device. Data is only transmitted to servers that you explicitly configure. Defencebay does not collect data from the app itself.
Who can see my location?
Your location is only shared with team members and servers that you configure. You have full control over location sharing settings.
